At the House for Life of the Kichwa Midwives Women Association from the High Napo (AMUPAKIN) we provide health attention at birth, post-birth, during pregnancy, we encourage maternal breast-feeding, we monitor sexual and reproductive health and traditional remedies through yachaks (healers). We attend according to the uses and customs of our traditional indigenous medicine from the High Napo.
Our attention as midwives is warm and self-managed, through the revaluation of our uses and know-how from the indigenous traditional medicine as well as the use of medicinal plants from the area. Our attention has a key role as to health preservation for the inhabitants of the 71 communities within the Archidona canton in the province of Napo , in Ecuador . We also offer tourist services including accommodation, food, trips into the jungle and other interesting sights, as well as renting a salon for events and training processes in cultural identity and indigenous traditional medicine. The House for Life is a space where the kichwa nationality's wisdom gathers to be strengthened, encouraging a healthy life-style.
